An exciting opportunity exists for a 2nd Chef. Our client, a privately owned, newly refurbished hotel located in Sheffield are looking to recruit an experienced 2nd Chef. The hotel boasts 2 function rooms that can accommodate 175 and 125 covers at full capacity, as well as a 200 (approx) cover restaurant and bar area.
Your main duties will be prepping and cooking food from fresh for the restaurant, as well as any functions that are taking place. You will work closely alongside the Head Chef and General Manager in developing and designing menus, as well as being responsible for the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence. You will have excellent knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and Food Hygiene. You will be passionate and enthusiastic about food as well as having a drive to succeed.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chef looking to take his career to the next logical step. This opportunity would ideally suit someone wanting to develop and learn new skills as well as having a creative input into the menu.
You will be required to work 45-48 hours a week, 5 days out of 7 and due to the nature of the business you will work some split shifts and late finishes. The salary is circa £16K other benefits include free on site parking, free use of the hotel gym and free meals whilst on duty
